SWIM MEET TIPS

Come Prepared

Be On Time! Swim meets will start on schedule. Please ensure there is enought time for the swimmers to warm up & settle in before the meet kicks off.

Important Items: Goggles, Caps, SPF Sunscreen, Bug Spray, Water Bottles, and 1-2 Towels. Please label your items! Optional: Bring items to keep your kids entertained in between events, i.e. books, card games, coloring books, etc.

The age-group volunteers will be watching over your kids during the meet, but, they are not responsible for entertaining the entire group.

Mark your swimmers with their races before the meet. (Event - Heat - Lane)

Learn how here.

Clear Communication and Expectations

Stay Until the End: All swimmers are REQUIRED to stay until the end of the meet. If you leave early it changes the relays and effects the heating and may effect your teammates ability to swim the relay. Leaving Early: If, for some reason, you must leave early or know in advance that you cannot stay PLEASE let the head volunteer coordinator or Coac Paul know.

Illness/Emergency: In case of illness/emergency ALWAYS NOTIFY Coach or one of your team organizers.

Safety First:During the meets, all swimmers should be in their assigned age-group area. Age-group parents and runners will not be able to track down swimmers who are not where they are supposed to be.

Food & Beverage

Available for purchase at most locations. Be sure to plan ahead, as we will have many hungry sharks. Pack snacks!

Wear your BCCC Sharks gear and support your team!
